Article Types

JBCS publishes peer-reviewed scholarly contributions in biogeography, meteorology, ecology, and environmental change science, focusing on climate–environment interactions and their influence on biodiversity and ecosystems.

All submissions must be original, scientifically sound, and methodologically robust.

6.1 Original Research Articles

Original Research Articles report novel findings from experimental, observational, analytical, or modeling studies.

They must include:

  • Clear research objectives
  • Robust and reproducible methodology
  • Rigorous data analysis
  • Scientifically valid conclusions

Required structure:
Abstract – Introduction – Materials and Methods – Results – Discussion – Conclusion

Each section must be clearly separated. Results must present data only, while Discussion must interpret findings.

6.2 Review Articles

Review Articles provide critical synthesis of existing or emerging research.

They must:

  • Identify knowledge gaps
  • Evaluate existing literature
  • Synthesize scientific evidence
  • Propose future research directions

Types include:

  • Systematic Reviews
  • Meta-Analyses
  • Thematic Reviews
  • Conceptual Reviews

6.3 Short Communications

Short Communications present concise reports of important findings requiring rapid dissemination, including:

  • Preliminary results
  • Novel biogeographical or ecological observations
  • New species distribution records
  • Unexpected climate–ecosystem interactions
  • Emerging environmental or climatic phenomena

6.4 Technical Notes

Technical Notes describe new methods, tools, or analytical approaches, including:

  • Environmental monitoring systems
  • Climate and weather data acquisition methods
  • Analytical and modelling workflows
  • Remote sensing and geospatial tools
  • Ecological and environmental forecasting tools

6.5 Case Studies

Case Studies present real-world applications of environmental, ecological, or climate-related interventions, emphasizing practical outcomes, system responses, and lessons learned for understanding biogeographical and meteorological processes.

6.6 Perspectives and Commentaries

These articles provide expert opinion on:

  • Emerging scientific issues
  • Policy debates
  • Future research directions
  • Conceptual developments

6.7 Data Papers

Data Papers describe well-documented datasets deposited in public repositories.

They must include:

  • Dataset description
  • Methodology
  • Validation details
  • Repository link
